Thermographic Surveys
Thermography is a term used to describe a type of photography
that uses infrared radiated wavelengths to make pictures as
opposed to visible light as in normal photographs. It can be also
referred to as 'thermal imaging' or 'infrared'.

Our team of electricians are good at what they do, but no matter
how long they have been in the business, they still can't see real
electrical faults quickly without the help of an infrared camera!

The main advantages of thermographic surveys are:

  • It is non - invasive and non - destructive
  • Minimises Plant down time
  • Minimises loss of man hours
  • The tests can be carried out with the power on
  • It can pin point a problem almost instantly
  • Lower maintenance costs in the long run

Thermographic Surveys of electrical systems can identify poor connections,
overloaded circuits or imbalanced loads. These types of faults on electrical systems are
generally very expensive in terms of plant downtime, damage, loss of production or risk from fire.

This picture shows a high resistive joint, which can't be seen by the human eye, however our
thermal imaging camera can pick this up straight away. This high resistance joint can be
caused by somthing as simple as a loose screw on the terminal. This loose screw could effectively cost thousands in
plant down time and lost man hours.
